Don Wood
President
Baseline’s President is Don Wood, an engineering professional and dedicated champion for best practices within the energy industry for more than 30 years. Don’s commitment, personal integrity and leadership have served as the foundation for his successful career encompassing the whole of Canada’s upstream energy industry in many different roles and sizes of organizations.
Prior to launching Baseline, Don oversaw day to day operations for a small private oil company as their Chief Operating Officer, and prior thereto was the Vice President of Engineering & Enhanced Recovery for a large independent Canadian energy producer. In the decade preceding his most recent activities, Don was the President of two publicly traded, gas focused junior energy companies which were developed and later sold to larger Canadian producers. Beginning his career, Don was fortunate to have been classically trained in all facets of operations and petroleum engineering during 15 years of service in both Canada and the United States with a major producing oil and gas company.
In service to the industry, Don has served with executive policy groups for the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP), and is the past Chairman of the Alberta Mature Oilfield Review, an enhanced recovery study and conventional light oil review jointly undertaken by the Alberta Department of Energy, CAPP and EPAC.
Don is the founder of Baseline, a professional engineer and registered member of APEGA, a chemical engineering graduate from the University of Toronto and an M.B.A. graduate from the University of Calgary.
